SunRocket Service To Be Discontinued On August 5, 2007
On Thursday July 26th, 2007 SunRocket customers received a 10 day notice that SunRocket VoIP services would be discontinued on August 5th, 2007.
If you are a SunRocket customer still looking to find a new VoIP Provider, I highly recommend you avoid Teleblend. According to Tom Keating, Teleblend is only a temporary solution for sunrocket customers.
I recommend that sunrocket customers consider one of the two VoIP Providers:
VoIP.com provides unlimited service and has very significantly increased their network capacity and operational staff to ensure they can continue to support the added demand from the many Sunrocket customers that have migrated to VoIP.com.
Another VoIP Service that I recommend for ex-sunrocket customers is ViaTalk.
ViaTalk is willing to buy out your existing contract and provide you with free shipping on your new VoIP device (Be sure to use SHIPFREE code when checking out). However, I have been unofficially informed that if you are skilled at unlocking your sunrocket gizmo, they will provide you with the necessary configuration information. However, If you do this, unfortunately technical support from ViaTalk will be limited, depending on exactly which sunrocket gizmo you have. Your best bet is to contact ViaTalk customer service and discuss the issue with them.
I have helped many people unlock sunrocket gizmos and have provided guidance to ensure a smooth transition to your new VoIP provider. If you would like my assistance, add a comment to this post and I will contact you via the email address you provide (it will not go public)

I am a previous SunRocket Customer. I recently signed up for service with Voip.com. I thought I would be receiving my new router by Aug 5, 07 which is SunRocket’s last service day. However, I was just notified that it may take an additional 7-10 business days after already waiting 5 days. They said there is a shortage of nationwide boxes. Anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me how to unlock my SunRocket gizmo to work with Voip.com in the meanwhile so that I will not be without service. Thank you for your cooperation.
Billy: Check out http://gizmopasswords.blogspot.com/
See if that site can help you determine the password of your Gizmo. If so, any SIP based VoIP provider can now provide you with service and can help you re-configure it.
If you are still have problems, let me know and I can walk you through the process.
I’ve ported over to voip.com, but they are having shipping delays. Additionally, I’d like to use an OS X softphone, but I can’t find the server settings to allow me to use something like gizmo project with my voip.com acct — do you know what those setings are?
Cmackg: Sorry for the delay, been pretty swamped with all of the new customers.
I have been told that you use your voip.com associated email address and password in the softphone.
