Sunrocket Contract Buy Out

For those sunrocket customers that have not already migrated their VoIP Service to a new provider, ViaTalk is offering to buy out your SunRocket contract.

Many have asked me about the process works. Let me show you…

ViaTalk will buy out up to 3 months of your SunRocket contract.

  • If you had a 12 month contract with SunRocket and only used 10 months of service you will receive 2 months free.
  • If you had a 12 month contract with SunRocket and only used 4 months of service you will receive 3 months free since the promotion is good for up to 3 months of service.

While this does provide you with a migration path to restore your VoIP telephone service, you may also have recourse against sunrocket, for the debt they owe to you. Granted, I am no lawyer, so you shouldn’t listen to me, but I have to believe that if you signed a contract with sunrocket and have a ’significant’ portion of that contract still unused — aka you just recently renewed your contract, by paying sunrocket more money — You have legal recourse against sunrocket.

It is presumed that Sunrocket has taken the necessary steps to leverage the legal protections that are available to US corporations. This means that the ’system’ has been activated to liquidate the assets in an attempt to resolve the debt of the legal entity that we call Sunrocket.

This process can take a significant amount of time to sort out. It is my belief that those sunrocket customers should be contacted, most likely via US Postal Mail, from the lawyer(s) that are handling the proceedings, if in fact there is a sunrocket bankruptcy filing.

However, with my google/blog searching and my two separate attempts to contact Sunrocket public relations I have not been able to acquire the required legal filings, which is public information.

Has anyone else found the filing(s)? Unfortunately, I am quite a ways from Vienna, Va, so going to the court to inquire on this matter is a non-trivial task.

This silence that is coming from Sunrocket is unsettling for me and I am not a even sunrocket customer. However, as history has shown, ‘telephone companies’ have always been rather secretive and paranoid, so who knows….
