Microsoft Prepares for VoIP Launch

Microsoft is locked and loaded to launch a new VoIP Platform on October 16th. Microsoft Chairman Bill Gates and Business Division President Jeff Raikes are set to showcase several products, including OCS 2007, which promises to bring VoIP, presence, instant messaging and conferencing together; the Office Communicator 2007 unified communications client; Office Live Meeting 2007 hosted conferencing and the RoundTable videoconferencing system.

Microsoft has been heavily promoting their VoIP PBX platform, which as I have pointed out before is a totally hilarious voip promotion.

I predict that many technology driven companies will attempt to adopt this new Microsoft VoIP PBX concept and then in a matter of months us Asterisk Phreaks will be fork lifting yet another expensive, proprietary solution for a truly flexible open source Asterisk-based solution.
