PayPal Down Again

It seems that PayPal is down again.

Upon attempting to log in, PayPal returns “page not found” as their title and “We are unable to complete your request at this time. Please click Retry or try again later. We apologize for the inconvenience. Message 3004.”

They are denying both PayPal credit and debit card transactions. Also, if one calls into their customer service number, their IVR does not automatically recognize an authorized mobile phone like they would on a ‘normal’ day.

This most likely means they are experiencing a back-end system failure. However, I am just guessing.

Back in June 2007 PayPal went down for the better part of the day.

Lets hope PayPal gets their act together and solves this problem. I don’t know about you, but our business relies heavily on PayPal to process transactions for us.

Update: PayPal came back online about 3 hours after this post went live. However their service was spotty, at best, for the rest of the day. We dealt with a handful of complaints from customers about how they could not complete a payment. PayPal’s service seems to have stabilized today and payments are currently being processed as expected.
